    Not Afraid of Coal

We believe access to affordable and reliable energy is the key to our way of life. We believe in a diverse energy mix, which may include nuclear power in the future. We believe we need to keep coal fired power stations running on local coal until we find an alternative baseload energy source.

Ultimately WA coal fired power accounts for a miniscule percentage of global emissions, and has provided the people of this state with safe, reliable and affordable energy for generations. At One Nation WA we would not be afraid to continue to rely on coal fired baseload power for many years into the future.

    Adapt to Changes

WA accounts for a negligible fraction of the total emissions globally, and we believe reducing our quality of life to achieve nothing in real terms is a losing proposition.

We also note that anthropological climate change is based on models that do not take into account other factors such as changes in solar cycles or solar activity, which are not completely understood by modern science. We think it is pretty obvious that the biggest impact on our climate is the sun, so this is just one example of why the science is never quite settled on things that are this complex.

We do not deny that the climate is changing, but we think the best thing to do as a state is to adapt to changes in the climate, without being constrained by cutting our tiny percentage of global emissions.
