CCC Ombudsman investigation exposes culture of entitlement
The Western Australian Corruption and Crime Commission (CCC) has reported the results of its investigation into the travel of the WA Ombudsman, and has possibly exposed an underlying culture of entitlement within the government and public service.
The WA Ombudsman was found to have created a sham approval system to enable him to travel internationally, when it was clearly not in the taxpayer's obvious interest for him to do so. One Nation WA suspects there are many other examples of senior bureaucrats and politicians using taxpayer funds in ways that deserve reflection and scrutiny, especially during the current cost of living crisis.
One Nation WA speaks with public servants and has seen the culture of the major parties in the parliament close-up, and we hear and see that there is a huge amount of inefficiency, waste and what we believe to be outright cynical misappropriation going on.
Public servants tell us that middle and upper management are no longer focused on the core business of their departments, instead focusing on ideological indoctrination of staff, achieving their own performance goals at the expense of long term outcomes, and alienating frontline staff who just want to get on with doing their jobs with endless reporting requirements.
With respect to the major parties, One Nation can confirm they are primarily interested in gaining and holding onto power, with all other considerations coming a distant second. This is why the uniparty cannot really be trusted to expose examples of where public sector leadership is not using funds according to community expectations, they are too scared that those people will expose their own incompetence and shortcomings.
One Nation WA will push for significant public sector reform, to eliminate wastage and enable front-line staff to enjoy doing their jobs again. We are the only party that will have the guts to say what frontline staff are thinking.
