Eventful week for One Nation Victoria’s, Rikkie-Lee Tyrrell, MLC

It’s been an eventful week for One Nation Victoria’s, Rikkie-Lee Tyrrell, MLC.

Rikkie-Lee Tyrrell has embarked on an in-depth tour of the Murray Darling Basin in an effort to gain a broader base knowledge of the intricate balance required between all stakeholders.

What did the Member investigate?

Kicking off in Mildura with the team from OZ Fish. This NGO does fantastic work with the rehabilitation, restoration, and education of the local waterways.

After Mildura, there was a Hattah – Kulkyne national park driving tour with the Mallee Catchment Management Authority (CMA). The aim was to view the extensive conservation and farming distribution projects that have succeeded and still require work. Then a detailed meeting of minds with the Mildura Regional Council Mayor, CEO and staff.

Day two was spent at Robinvale with leading table grape growers, then Swan Hill in meetings with key irrigators and council members.

Followed up on day 3 in Cohuna and a meeting with the Central Murray Environmental Floodplains group. Days 4 and 5 were spent at the Tallangatta Expo and Dartmouth Dam, speaking to locals and encouraging productive dialog.
