In brief:

·        Responsible management of fish stocks

One Nation will repeal WA Labor’s draconian and over-the top demersal fishing ban, and reassess options to protect those species which are genuinely under threat.

We want to make sure WA families have access to WA fish, either by catching it themselves, from a fish shop or for Friday night fish and chips.

We will also increase funding for more fisheries officers to be on the ocean to deal with the increased number of recreational fishers. This will ensure rules are understood and followed, especially within communities that may have different cultural attitudes towards fishing and conservation of fish stocks.

One Nation WA supports a strong local commercial fishing industry, as well as those businesses who are associated with recreational fishing.
