One Nation WA to field 41 candidates at 2025 state election

Pauline Hanson’s One Nation WA State Leader Rod Caddies has announced the party successfully registered 41 lower house candidates for the 2025 State election.

“We are very pleased with the amount of people we were able to attract, it is not a small ask to stand in an election, and the people who we have endorsed are making a personal sacrifice for what they believe in” said Mr Caddies.

One Nation’s candidates come from all walks of life and reflect a broad cross section of the community in Western Australia.

Included in the mix are doctors, accountants, engineers, mechanics, FIFO workers, courier drivers, council workers, small businesspeople and various other professions, and the candidates come from various age groups, young and old.

“We have chosen everyday Australians to represent One Nation WA at the state election, because One Nation represents everyday Australians and wants to put them first” said Mr Caddies

“Our candidates are united in their support of our policies, which is why they have chosen to represent the party, they really care about this state and think it is heading in the wrong direction.”

Mr Caddies initially had hoped to field candidates in all 59 lower house seats, however recent electoral law changes by the major parties have made it harder for small parties and independents to compete, with onerous reporting requirements and threats of jail and personal fines for making honest mistakes scaring people away.

“We actually had a large amount of government employees express their interest however many were not aware they needed to take four weeks of leave in order to participate in our democracy, which they were not able to do during this cost of living crisis”.

Mr Caddies also noted that One Nation WA was operating with the help of a handful of part time volunteers, compared to the 90 full time staff that are reportedly working for the Labor party.

“We are clearly the underdogs of this election, we are punching well above our weight, on a playing field which is not level, competing against incumbents who have the benefit of leveraging taxpayer resources for their campaign, as outlined in the recent CCC report.”

When asked if he was confident his candidates had been vetted adequately, Mr Caddies said the party had chosen decent likeable people who may have done things in the past that could be attacked by the media.

“I am sure most people in WA have said or done things in the past which they would say or do differently today, however as a party we really do believe in free speech, and giving people a fair go.”

“Our candidates have not spent their lives training to be career politicians, they are passionate people who like discussing ideas, they have a deep love for this State, and have the courage to stand up for what they believe in, even with the knowledge that the media may try to unfairly demonise them.”

One Nation WA is providing an alternative to the major parties in Western Australia, promising to restore living standards, end woke ideology and put the interests of everyday Western Australians first.

“It is time to elect honest, authentic community members and to turn our backs on the career politicians of the major parties” said Mr Caddies.

“We are fielding enough candidates to theoretically win Government, and although that is very unlikely, we are giving the people of WA a genuine alternative to the status quo, which is a good thing for democracy.”

One Nation WA has published its policy positions and available candidate profiles on its website: wa.onenation.org.au .
