Police / Law and Order

In brief:

·        Better pay and conditions to keep officers in the job

·        More police in the community and on the streets

·        Cut the paperwork keeping police off the beat

·        Tackle youth crime with rehabilitation and restorative justice

·        Introduce Castle Law in WA

We support better pay and conditions for our Police to stop the exodus of officers leaving the force.

We also support remote youth rehabilitation options to address the youth crime and youth detention crisis, as well as a restorative justice model that addresses the situation in our prisons.

We also support empowering local communities with the freedom to implement local solutions to local problems. We believe in a police force that is there to protect and serve, not to command and control, which will result in a culture that will attract and retain the best in our community.

One Nation WA believes strongly in law and order, and we appreciate the incredibly hard job our officers have at times dealing with and responding to distressing situations. We want to put the focus on supporting our officers with the resources and support they need doing their actual job, and will support solutions that reduce paperwork and reporting requirements that are keeping our cops off the streets.

There is no substitute for having police officers in the community and on the roads and streets, and One Nation will make this a priority.

But the last line of defence in your home is you, and that is why One Nation will introduce Castle Law in WA to empower homeowners to confidently defend themselves, their families and their properties.
