Rod Caddies slams sham election inquiry

Rod Caddies, Leader of One Nation WA, has today condemned the Cook Government's announced election inquiry as a politically convenient whitewash designed to dodge accountability.

Mr Caddies said Labor, with the support of Liberals, Nationals and Greens, had deliberately excluded crossbenchers and ignored crucial lines of inquiry.

"The uni-party is alive and well in Western Australia," Mr Caddies said.

"We were all invited to co-sign a letter demanding a proper election inquiry, only for the Liberals, Nationals and Greens to cut a deal with Labor without even informing us it was happening,

"They locked us out, stitched up a deal, and are now trying to pass it off as accountability,

"The opposition alliance and the Greens are now running cover for the Labor Government,

"I guess I should congratulate the newest member of the uni-Party, Brad Pettit,

"The terms of reference are more notable for what they omit than what they include,

"There's no mention of communications between Labor and PersolKelly, the contractor at the centre of this debacle and a big-money Labor donor,

"They've also refused to examine whether these election irregularities could have changed the results in seats with very narrow margins of victory,

"Electorates like South Perth, Fremantle and Albany won on highly narrow margins. How can anyone take this inquiry seriously if it refuses to look at the impact of irregularities on close contests?

"Labor is desperate to avoid real scrutiny, and the majors just helped them do it,

"This is exactly why we need a proper parliamentary inquiry—with cross-party oversight,

"We still support an independent inquiry, but not one designed to run interference for the government,

"Labor cannot be allowed to investigate itself with the help of its political enablers,

"I demand that the Legislative Council hold a parallel Parliamentary inquiry into the 2025 WA State Election,

"If the Liberals, Nationals and Greens still believe in accountability, they'll stand by their original call for a parliamentary inquiry."
