WA Farming threatened by ideology

One Nation WA understands what is happening to our farmers and why, and we are completely opposed to it.

The underlying problem facing farmers is woke ideology infecting policy at the federal and state levels, resulting in warped priorities being pursued.

We have seen multiple attacks on the agricultural sector by inner city elites, who have no idea how food gets to their supermarkets, and are driven by emotion and misguided ideas of compassion.

For instance, the WA Aboriginal Cultural Heritage act was based on the idea that all present day Australians are responsible for the historic treatment of indigenous Australians, and that it was appropriate to over-ride private property rights to atone for it. Farmers would have been required to pay bribes to be able to conduct their business, to move a song line to where it would not interfere with farming operations. It is reasonable to protect genuine cultural heritage sites, however that was not what the woke left wanted, it wanted to punish farmers.

The live export ban is another example of policy that is driven by woke ideology, the progressive left believe eating meat is wrong for two reasons, apparently due to animal farts causing global warming, and also because they assert that eating meat is somehow immoral. Animal welfare is important to all farmers, if you don't look after your animals, they tend to die, and they become hard to sell. But again, the woke progressives are not interested in facts, they are purely guided by their emotions and misinformation from vested interests.

The attack on WA farmers is just part of what seems to be a global movement attacking agriculture and small farms, as evidenced by the mass farmer protests across Europe which were under-reported by the mainstream media.

There is an anti-farming agenda, and it threatens thousands of small and medium farmers in WA. This is why One Nation is committed to assertively pushing back against the progressive woke agenda which the other conservative parties are too weak to oppose. The plight of farmers will only get much worse if the Greens and Labor control the next parliament, supported by the woke wings of the Liberal and Nationals.
