Waste Management

In brief:

·        Investigate and establish a whole of state waste management strategy

·        End pointless recycling if it ends up in landfill anyway

·        Pick up general waste on a weekly basis for hygiene reasons

Currently waste management in Western Australia is handled at the local government level, however they take policy direction from the State Government.

Ideological commitment to recycling has blinded policymakers to the realities of waste management in this state.

Currently there is no plan to recycle batteries, solar panels or wind turbines, and a lot of recycling and organic waste goes straight to landfill.

Instead of wasting peoples time and money “practicing” waste separation, One Nation will consult to establish a whole of state recycling strategy that delivers value for money and community expectations.

One Nation will require red general waste bins to be collected weekly due to health and safety concerns. The reality is that our FIFO workforce and hot climate results in red bins attracting vermin, creating foul odours and possibly spreading disease.
