Housing
In brief:
· Slash immigration and ban foreign buyers until supply catches up
· Slash red and green tape to build faster
· Services at cost to developers and no GST on building products
· Grow regional towns to take pressure off Perth
One Nation condemns successive governments for allowing the current housing and homelessness crisis in WA.
We believe in reducing red and green tape and to encourage more regional infrastructure development to reduce housing pressure. We will also adequately invest in emergency, short term and long-term social housing across the state.
And we are not scared to state the obvious - to reduce pressure on the housing market immediately, we just need to slow down immigration.
One Nation WA believes in cutting immigration and banning foreign home purchases until our housing market supply can catch up with demand in our state. We will also ensure state government projects and policy do not overwhelm the construction industry, as happened with WA Labor’s Metronet and Covid building bonus.
We believe in Australians owning their own home, and oppose policies that encourage the large scale purchase of housing stock by large organisations which distort the market for families.
In the short term One Nation will ensure water, power and other services are provided at cost to developers to ensure more land is unlocked, and to remove GST on building products which will make building houses cheaper.
Our Regional Development policy will also enable the growth of regional towns to reduce housing pressure in Perth.
Western Australia has huge amounts of land, almost unlimited natural resources and boundless potential, One Nation is committed to making sure every Western Australian has a roof over their head.
