Population Growth

 

In brief:

·        Stop considering Perth a regional Centre for migration purposes

·        Discourage unmanageable population growth by reducing targets in the State Nominated Migration Program

·        Ensure housing, infrastructure and services can keep up

·        Defend our standard of living

 

WA’s experience during COVID illustrated how putting the brakes on migration reduced congestion on our roads and allowed Government services to focus on Western Australians.

One Nation WA will lobby for a a significant reduction in immigration numbers and focus on permitting only highly skilled migrants from culturally cohesive countries into Australia.

We will also advocate for Perth to be restored to capital city status and no longer be assigned as a category 2 “regional centre”, which will reduce the amount of recent migrants who move to Perth to fulfill visa requirements quicker.

One Nation wants WA to keep growing, but not at the expense of the people who are already here. We will ensure housing, infrastructure and services keep up with growth and defend our standard of living.
